Sucker for BMT and Police NS stuff

Days Were The Those

One of those blogs that I've read before and forgotten, and found again.

I'm a sucker for Army BMT things and Police NS things, since they form part of my collective life history. Reading things about it sure brings back bittersweet memories of my short days in Green, and the not-so-short days in Blue.

My BMT platoon - this is the only other photo I have of my platoon.

Sonicfest rocks and the move to Expo

Sonicfest 2005 wrist bandLast Friday was the first time I've been to a rock concert. Well, Sonicfest 2005 isn't exactly a rock concert, but it sure feels like one. The whole Fort Canning Green was filled with people passionate and hot for the Lord, and the atmosphere was electricfying. God's presence was indeed there.

Planetshakers and Sonicflood were anchoring the Friday night session (SF05 actually lasts from 28-30 July). Both bands were equally good, but personally I felt I could connect better with the songs performed by Planetshakers.

Here's another picture that I took during the concert using my phone camera. I wanted to bring my DSLR but decided against it since my priority there is to worship God, not taking pictures!

FCBC is going to move to Singapore Expo by end of this year. This is not news to me; it's been annouced to the whole church quite some time ago. What's going to be exciting is that the church will be occupying a whole 7,000-seat auditorium, more than 3 times our current capacity of the two centres combined.

Personally, I am quite excitied about the move, since having a bigger auditorium means there's potential for expansion. I've always believed God has a purpose in landing us in this 'deal' (so to speak), that is to enlarge our tent! I believe He is preparing us, as a church, for greater things to come. YouthNet is going to have our own service in the afternoon, and the current attendance is about 2,000 people. That leaves us 5,000 empty seats - waiting to be filled by our unsaved friends who needs to know about Jesus!
